final info & everything you need to know as an #execfintech attendee

Tuesday is the big day and we want you to make the best of it. This is not a drill – read everything carefully.

The most important thing would be, to truly live up to our house rules:
First Names / VIP = everyone / No BS / Give Give Give Ask

See who’s coming & connect in advance
#execfintech is build around connecting the right people. The networking app Bizzabo facilitates exactly that. To maximize the right connections at the event we recommend that you connect and contact each other beforehand. Also, Bizzabo is our main communication channel from now on and during the event. Important announcements and possible last-minute program changes are all communicated via the app.
Register with your mobile devices – Android/iOS. Ping us if you can’t find the login details.

I can’t strengthen this enough: everything you need, info- and connection-wise, is in Bizzabo. Profiles of our speakers, our partners, the exhibiting companies as well as the agenda and a map to guide you to the premises.

Program & speakers
The registration will start at 8.00am and the official program will begin at 9.00am. There will be two parallel tracks, a dedicated networking area, plus the pitch & demo stage. The first track is held on the ‘KPMG stage’ and the second on the ‘Unibator stage’. All keynotes and panels are designed for interaction and open dialogue is intended (check out our session formats). You can check the latest program (and potential changes) in Bizzabo, too. The program on the website will be updated one last time on Monday.

For everyone who wants to fine-tune their pitch over the weekend: feel free to get in touch with our pitch coach Peter Hopwood and get some last-minute advice!

This is a startup-event, business attire is not necessary. Please don’t make me look foolish wearing sneakers while you’re wearing suit & tie. 😉

You will receive everything you need at the registration counter on site. Please bring your Eventbrite ticket with you (paper or digitally scannable) and have it ready, to ensure a smooth entrance for everyone. If you have not received a ticket, reach out to Claudia@execio.co immediately.

We like to thank our long-term Partner KPMG for the amazing support this year. #execfintech wouldn’t be possible without them.
Make sure to check out all our partners and reach out to them beforehand.

Maps & directions
#execfintech will take place at ‘Casino Gebäude Campus Westend‘ of the Goethe University in Frankfurt. The exact address is: Nina-Rubinstein-Weg 1, 60323 Frankfurt am Main

  • For those of you arriving by car, the best address for your GPS is: Fürstenberger Straße 233. You can park at ‘Parkhaus Palmengarten’ (Siesmayerstraße 61) and enjoy a ten minute walk. There are no other parking spots right at the campus.
  • For those using public transport: Take subway U4 or U5 from ‘Frankfurt Main Station’ to ‘Willy-Brandt-Platz’, switch to subway lines U1, U2 or U3 till ‘Holzhausenstraße’ – it’s a 300m walk via Bremer Straße to the Campus Westend.
  • Bus lines are 36 or 75 till ‘Uni Campus Westend’ or 64 till ‘Bremer Platz’
  • Additionally, here’s an overview of the area

Food & Drinks
Food & drinks are included and available throughout the day, with various options (vegetarian and non-vegetarian) available for lunch and snacks.

If you have scanned the agenda for a lunch break, you might’ve seen that we’re offering lunch from 11:30 AM till 3 PM, but without a specific break in the agenda. We will also offer a variety of sweet and savoury snacks in the morning and afternoon.

Our motive is easily explained: grant as much flexibility as possible, while at the same time guaranteeing freshly cooked food instead of keeping dishes warm under a heat lamp for hours.

Therefore, we make use of the Campus Westend dining hall. You’re all free to grab whatever you like, go several times, it’ll all be taken care of with your visitor’s badge.

If you’re still looking, we recommend to check the hotels listed via our partner Triprebel (includes discount).

There is a cloakroom at the event. Due to shortage of space, we are not able to store everyone’s luggage. Please store your luggage at the hotel if it’s an option.

For all early-arrivers: There will be a get-together over drinks at bar Pracht in Frankfurt, on Monday (March 7th). Our friends at Fintech FFM were kind enough to set things up for you, details here.

If you have any further questions, please let me know. Safe travels and see you in Frankfurt on Tuesday!

Best regards

Pitch Coaching with Peter Hopwood at #execfintech

We’re delighted to announce Peter Hopwood as MC for the #execfintech pitch competition semi-finals & finals! Peter is a communication & copywriting expert and does a lot public speaking- & pitch coaching. He not only is an often seen moderator or host (NOAH conference, Startup Turkey, Pioneers), but also offers his services to accelerators and incubators.

Additionally to moderating the pitches, Peter will host a Fishbowl-session on “smart takeaway pitching tips and practical techniques to take any pitch to the next level” at #execfintech. This blog post will give you a first idea of the topics Peter will cover.

To all pitch-startups: Feel free to reach out to Peter prior to the event (Bizzabo or Email), he’ll be happy to help you fine-tune your pitch!

Thanks! A big shout out to our partners

#execfintech 2016 is the third edition of what once started as a small gathering of 200 people. We are proud and happy that it has grown to a 600 people conference. Our mission remains the same: We connect Europe’s finance industry, focusing on selected senior Corporate Executives, successful Startup Founders and active Investors.

All this wouldn’t be possible without the support of our partners. Therefore, our sincerest thanks goes out the all of our partners and supporters.

Radically faster credit enquiries with digital account check

From time to time we highlight services by our partners.

The digital account check is a service by arvato Financial Solutions.
Credit enquiries and especially the credit checks usually take days – often weeks. Our partner arvato Financial Solutions offers a digital account check that radically reduces this waiting time. In fact the digital account check is – as the name indicates – completely digital and happens in real time.

The enquirer can now enter his account data via online interface and confirms the account check by the loan creditor. The whole checking process is then done by arvato Financial Solutions.

Online is not only faster, it’s also available anywhere. Thus, the digital account check can be integrated in the online processes as well as in-store. It is an uncomplicated shortcut as it integrates account information and scoring seemlessly in the application process.

You can find more information about the digital account check at finance.arvato.com.

Startups, investors and corporates attending #execfintech (excerpt)

Our mission with #execfintech is to connect the European Fintech players from the startup, investor and corporate world on executive level.

And we are proud to say that #execfintech 2016 will yet again bring us closer to our mission. We have attendees from 30+ countries (the pitch startups alone are from 17 different countries).

Check out some of the startups that will attend #execfintech 2016.

Startupcloud high new

Of course we also have the best European fintech investors. Here is an overview.

Investorcloud high

And here is an excerpt of corporates that are coming in March. More to come.

Corporatecloud high

Also, we are happy that several well-known media outlets and journalists will be attending #execfintech.

You are missing your company logo? Sorry about that. Please know that these logo clouds are just excerpts of all our attendees. Also, we have daily new signups and cannot insert them all.

Awesome networking is the secret ingredient of great events

We believe that good things happen if you bring the right people together (we curate who attends) on a topic they care about (for #execfintech that is fintech) and provide the right context and “tools”.

In the past our house rules and the coziness of the events have created a very connective atmosphere. Also we are actively introducing our participants personally throughout the day.

As we are growing in size it tends to be more difficult to connect with the right people. We address this solution by adding a variety of structured networking and matchmaking elements to #execfintech.

Networking App
This year Bizzabo is our networking app (again). The app is great for networking before the event and is our main communication channel regarding everything that happens during the event (esp. urgent topics like agenda updates etc.).

Bizzabo is the best place to get an overview of who is coming. We recommend to start contacting other attendees through the app before #execfintech to schedule personal meetings during the event.

Access to the app is restricted to attendees only. All attendees will receive an invitation to the app mid February.

Meeting Point and Networking Area
If you arrange a meeting on Bizzabo and are looking for a place to meet, the meeting point in the entrance hall is a very visible spot. For a longer chat you can just move to the networking area.

This year we are introducing NetworkingTables – a structured way to meet certain people during the event. This is how it works:

  • Tables are “owned” by an organization or an individual for a certain amount of time (there are a few tables still available for booking; contact meike@execio.co for details)
  • Attendees can then request a meeting before the event
  • Meetings are usually 10 minutes each

We’ll announce detailed information on how to request meetings to all attendees of #execfintech around the end of February.

Speed Dating
In addition to NetworkingTables – the “structured” and pre-arranged way to meet the right people at #execfintech – speed dating is the ad-hoc way of growing your personal network.

This is how it works:

  • There are several speed dating slots in our agenda, which will be announced soon
  • Each have a certain topic, a time frame and a maximum number of people
  • People have 2-4 minutes to meet, exchange business cards and – if interested – arrange a follow up in one of the networking areas

Speed dating is the best way to meet a lot of interesting people during #execfintech. Don’t forget to bring business cards. 🙂

These are the chosen startups for the #execfintech pitch competition

After several hours of evaluation and debate we, together with experts from our network, have selected the startups that will compete for the 20.000 EUR in cash prize in the #execfintech pitch competition.
